What can I expect during my first appointment?

Typically, a patient's first visit to our office takes around an hour. We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment to familiarize yourself with the office and to fill out the New Patient forms.

These forms are important because, combined with what we learn during your initial examination, their content will guide us as we develop an oral health care plan for you, based on your specific needs.

After reviewing your medical and dental history, Dr. Cox, in conjunction with a hygienist, will perform a complete oral exam and cleaning, and take x-rays. There will also be time during your appointment for a consultation with Dr. Cox, during which you'll discuss your oral status, chief complaints and future treatment.  

Some patients may require additional cleaning appointments based on the condition of their teeth and gums.
